Hallam moved to the French Riviera in 1966 - a relocation that proved to be a life-changing event for him. Just as he was developing his own free-spirited style in breathtaking landscapes, he left art temporarily to become half of a folk-singing duo, "Ruth and Kerry." He performed for five years with Polydor Records, opening for such acts as Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor.
In 1973 he moved to the United States and opened a studio in Boston, and later a studio and gallery in Nantucket. He continues to return to St. Tropez and the French Riviera to revitalize his spirit and rekindle his vision. Inspired by Van Gogh, his bright, vivid palette makes everyday life seem magical. His paintings are very emotional with distinctive color harmony and light.
Hallam has received many awards and accolades, been featured in countless magazine and newspaper articles, as well as having television specials on PBS. He has had great success with one-man shows and exhibitions worldwide and been honored at art galleries in New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and Beverly Hills. His paintings are in private collections in Europe and the United States and can be seen in a recently published book, 'Kerry Hallam, Artistic Visions'.« see less
