Albert Bierstadt
Albert Bierstadt was born in D?sseldorf, Germany in 1830 of American parents and was brought to New Bedford, Massachusetts as a child. In 1851 Bierstadt began first with a series of sketches and drawings and then painting in oils when he reached his twenties.
