M. Katherine Hurley was born in Cleveland, Ohio where her family has been working in the liturgical arts for many generations. Her work has received numerous awards and is currently part of private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Europe. For the artist, the mystery of the landscape is a metaphor for life - full of transitions. Some are soft and delicate, others more severe. Lines and edges are lost and found; realism and abstraction merge; contrast, color and value are dramatic or subtle.
