Delacroix is considered an expert in the naïf or primitive style of painting that is a combination of graphics structure with detail in rich color. His technique shows much bustling activity and graceful balance with a sense of timelessness for a bygone era. Although some consider his art naïve, his paintings convey an intimate detail and a precise palette with a romanticism and nostalgia that is refreshing.
Artist Michel Delacroix has won accolades for his work in Paris, Rome, Cannes, Venice, and the United States along with other countries and cities worldwide. Delacroix has had solo exhibitions in over 300 cities in the U.S. alone, along with exhibits in Europe and Asia. He has earned numerous awards and recognition throughout his career, including Official Artist of the 1966 Centennial Olympic Games and the Atlantic Committee of the Olympic Games to provide posters and limited edition prints.
Delacroix continues to live and work in France. His work is in private collections and at galleries and museums, including Musee International d’Art Naif and the Foundation Max Fourny in Paris. His prints can be found at art retailers around the world.« see less
