"Magnano-Sabina-Pascal" is another of Gary Max Collins' rather earthy Tuscan series of paintings, featuring all the icons of the Tuscan landscape; the rolling hills, crops of wheat, lavender and olives. White farmhouses flanked by cypress trees, their red roofs making them at one with the landscape. In fact, Collins manages somehow to trap this captivating landscape onto the canvas, distilling the rare beauty so beloved of artists. He captures more than the beautiful scenery though, the timelessness of the region seems to be instilled into the canvas, perhaps because the pigments of the Tuscan earth itself were used to paint the pictures.
