A landscape turned brown as it readies for the coming winter is the scene of choice for Steve McGinty in his painting entitled "In the Meadow". A lone tree stands still full of dry, brown leaves at the edge of a tiny pond. It stands far separated from the other trees sharing its prairie of long, golden grass, and above them all, a sky has turned white and gold with either the coming or the going of the sun. The pond reflects both hues of the illumined sky, and the fall scene sits nestled in a wide frame bearing the marks of age. Brown finish has begun to crack all over the frame's surface to reveal a steely gray layer of stone beneath. The effect is like looking out of an ancient window onto a peaceful landscape, and can be yours forever when you make it a part of your permanent collection.
