Thomas McKnight uses pastel colors made vivid to depict the music room of a villa in "Barbados". Through the window, we see a sailboat gliding across the ocean by the light of the evening moon. This painting has a very Noel Coward feel to it - the room is ready to receive elegant men and women who will drink sophisticated cocktails on the verandah, while somebody plays a melody on the grand piano. Thomas McKnight was born in 1941 and did his first painting at the age of thirteen when his mother gave him a set of oil paints as a gift. The luminous colors of his work seem to counterbalance the grayness of those post-war years. Reference note: For more information see ''Thomas McKnight art', 'McKnight art', and Thomas L McKnight'.
