Unusually for Bill Brauer, "Amber Dream" has been painted in landscape format, which seems to give a less static effect to the image of dance. Rather than Brauer's usual studied sensuality, the overriding feeling of this painting is one of warmth and dramatic movement, as in salsa or meringue. The Latin woman's body stretches sensuously across the whole canvas, her importance to the work emphasized by the fact that we don't even get to see her partner's face! With the red flower behind her ear, and the broad red cummerbund emphasizing her stunning figure, this lady is out to strut her stuff! Wouldn't she look sensational, strutting her stuff across your wall?
