Georgia O'Keeffe was adamant that 'One can't paint New York as it is, but rather as it is felt', and in "A Street", you can sense the smallness she experienced when she first moved to the City in 1925. The buildings seem to loom over you, yet they don't feel unfriendly - you get the impression that they are protecting you. And - right at the end of the alley - is that the light at the end of the tunnel? For a cityscape, this piece is very emotional and would be a great conversation piece anywhere.
