Oil painter C'Babi Bayoc portrays four musicians intent on the music they are making together as they huddle close in his painting "Young Lion Quartet". Among them, there is a stand-up bassist with short black hair and a serious expression, a lady saxophone player with dreadlocks and big, dark lips, a slouching pianist with heavy eyelids and sagging cheeks and a singing guitarist with paler skin and dreadlocks of his own. They play against a wall of gray concrete blocks on wooden stools, and they are all dressed in shirts of different solid colors, green, orange, white and blue, so that the dim light in the room creates contours in the folds of their fabric like velvet. Whether in a room where you make music or simple appreciate it, this will be a painting to bring to mind again and again the pleasure it is to make music with friends."
