The setting sun turns a smooth layer of clouds the color of the sandy beach stretching out in front of dark blue water in Jose Barbera's seascape entitled "Home for the Day". Two wooden fishing boats sit on the beach, white paint on their tops and their bottoms painted black. The boats seem to push the sand into dark piles the color of the thicker clump of clouds directly above them. The sun leaves a long, orange line across a line of thinner clouds and its warmth heightens the cool gray blue and white of the calm ocean below. This lovely seashore has a simple color scheme and is invitingly calm in its simplicity and smooth lines. "Home for the Day" is sure to become a haven and restoration for over-stimulated minds at the end of long days.
