A lighthearted image in a warm, tropical palette presents three older, wider women with their hands on their hips watching a young, slender, long-legged girl walk by in Paul Goodnight's "Listen to the Hipbones". The palette is dominantly shades of terra cotta orange, with a few turquoise exceptions. The white of a strapless dress hugs the curvy shape of the girl. The three older women push their hips forward with their elbows behind them as if they are rubbing out old kinks, their dresses plain with square, short sleeves and fuller skirts, their dark brown faces hidden under straw hats. It is a painting that sees the world as it is, but with affectionate good-humor, making it a focal point to bring a smile to your face every time you pass it by."
