Jill Deveraux' "Light Within I" and "Light Within II" have a jewel-like, stained glass quality about them. Iris and magnolia are portrayed in the Japanese style before a glowing ground of deep red and brown. The flowers are shown in cream and white, the color of bones, as if they have an inner source of light, which illuminates the whole composition. Not everybody can have the transcendental beauty of stained glass within their homes but both of the "Light Within" images would make a very beautiful substitution.
