Pink haze settles low under orange-lit palm trees at an inlet in a glassy smooth lake in "Paisaje Venezolano" by Ferdinand Bellermann. The only blue of the sky is at the upper left of the painting, as yellow and white haze leads to pink as it approaches the ground, and its casts its color on the water in perfect reflection. The trees grow close together in a clump on the bit of peninsula at the center of the painting, creating a concentration of deep green bordered by the deep, orange color of evening sunlight. A few boats sit tied to shore and add their warm brown to the exposed earth and tree trunks in the painting's center and foreground. Oil paint and warm, deep colors make for a rich and captivating seascape to bring depth and interest to any space.
